We think CamRanger is really great and has a lot of different uses, but we’ll let some of our users speak for us.

What a great product!! I set up my camera (Nikon D600) on a tripod in the kitchen and pointed it at our bird feeder outside the window. Then I retired to the living room (which is not in sight of the kitchen) so I could watch the football games on TV. I used LiveView on my iPad to watch for birds landing on the bird feeder and when they did, double-clicked on the bird’s head in the screen to get the focus set and then clicked a few pics. I did this for about five hours and did not miss a thing from the football games and got lots of great pics of the birds on our feeder. What a cool way to spend the afternoon.

After a month of use I am very happy with the device.
I showed this to several other photographers and they were quite impressed.
Thanks again for a wonderful solution.

As an architectural photographer I was looking for ways to remotely trigger and view the camera shots on one device. I used to do this with a (wired) tethered laptop. But sometimes I’m away of my camera by more then 50 meters, because I light my projects at dawn and dusk. Constantly walking back to the laptop to review the shots is time consuming. It also needs a second tripod with the laptop on it, next to the camera tripod. With CamRanger, I could get rid of the second tripod and the laptop on it. So it saves weight and a lot of hassle in the first place. The device and the WiFi network proved to be really reliable, and because it’s so small it easily attaches to the camera tripod. Changing camera settings with the app is fast and intuitive, and the good thing is also that the app is updated every once in a while.
All together I’m totally satisfied with my CamRanger.

We used the CamRanger for the first time last night shooting the interior of a 41 ft yacht. It worked perfectly! Perfect for shooting small spaces where you cannot get your eye behind the camera. The client was also blown away by the image on the iPad of his boat.

I needed a remote view and triggering mechanism for my camera while using a mast. CamRanger offered this, along with nearly complete control of the camera while it was sitting several metres above my head.
I took the mast out for it’s first proper test at sunrise yesterday morning. The CamRanger allowed me to level my shot, frame, and adjust exposure settings. The HDR capability worked well, and I was even able to capture a bit of video, all without having to touch the camera itself.
You have made a great product, and I’m really glad to have the CamRanger my kit.

CamRanger is a fantastic product! It is just the right thing for us to take light art pictures with our cameras!
We are three photographers from Koblenz, Germany and we are taking light art performance photography. This is a choreographic light painting. We combine the environment and background with our light performance, so we take longtime shots.
I was waiting for about two years for a product like this – easy to use with my Canons and my iPad2.

Here is my first star trail test using the CamRanger! I am loving it and my new 5D Mark III! This was a series of just 53 images, 1 minute each, ISO 800 using my Canon 24-105L @ f8. The 3 gaps in this image were from planes that flew into my FOV so I just deleted those frames. This was just a test, I cannot wait to get out in the field with this rig! Btw, it was freezing cold and I was controlling it all from my den watching TV with my wife – automation is awesome!

My girlfriend gave me CamRanger for my birthday this November. I just love it. This picture is shoot while waiting for Aurora Borealis near the town of Tromso in Northern Norway.

I have a rather unique obsession in my photographic work: I photograph mushrooms. Because mushrooms, for the most part, are pretty small subjects and grow on the ground or very close to it, I often find myself on my hands and knees trying to either look through the viewfinder or at a three inch LCD screen to compose and focus on my subjects. Photographing mushrooms, therefore, is always a challenging endeavor, especially at age 67, when your body parts are beginning to wear out.
The CamRanger has provided the perfect solution for my passion. With the iPad in my lap or on the ground next to me, composition is easily acquired using my Really Right Stuff ball head, locking in the scene when everything lines up on the iPad. The large iPad touch screen makes critical focusing a snap and the capture is made without ever touching the camera.
The CamRanger has made my passion a great deal more comfortable, productive and efficient and has, no doubt, extended the number of years that I am going to be able to pursue this without a nurse at my side. Thanks for the great customer support in helping me to get up and running with this system.

CamRanger is a real handy solution especially for macro where the small screen of a camera is useless to obtain a really fine depth of field precision. For this orchard (5/1!!!) we obtain a very high result with an iPad. With CamRanger no more wire, I can take macro pictures as far as I wish from my desktop with a higher precision and better settings (light simulation….). I save time for post-production.
As a conclusion : I dreamed of it, you did it.

All in all, the CamRanger serves the functionality that I need it to just as I had hoped. It allows me to combine the benefits of having a larger device to check critical focus in the field and control my camera, without the annoyance of carrying a cumbersome laptop around everywhere I go. It’s also a lot less conspicuous. Additionally, it also allows me to quickly review bracketed images to ensure consistency and look out for ghosting problems in the field before I return home and edit them in their full glory.

The CamRanger was amazing – really, really helped out, stopped me having to walk back to the camera all the time to check the photo, could show it to my editor without having to ask him to get on the floor to look at the back of the camera, and well the large iPad screen size is also a bonus for reviewing pictures.
Bolt the camera to my car tomorrow and have a try and at some high speed tracking shots. – A shot of something I wouldn’t have been able to take without your awesome product.

(Tutorial on using CamRanger with a LensBaby) I shot this with a Canon MKIII tethered to an iPad 3 using the Camranger wireless unit. It worked perfectly and was a great help in letting me check sharpness in the eyes while using these lenses that require manual focusing.

I was shooting a poster with a bunch of girls laying on the floor. I have done this before in the past, but from a ladder, leaning out with camera at arms length, shooting several before I got one aimed right. This time, I used my CamRanger, and attached my camera to my Manfrotto adjustable boom arm. Using the cranks on the end of the boom, I could turn and tilt my camera, while watching on my iPad and shooting from the iPad. MUCH nicer and more controlled.
